Zayo Group to acquire Seattle's 360networks in major fiber merger

Zayo Group of Colorado says it has an agreement to acquire Seattle's 360networks Holdings (USA) Inc., a deal that almost doubles Zayo's fiber network and make it what its CEO calls "a national provider of bandwidth infrastructure service."
360networks' chairman is Greg Maffei, CEO of Douglas County-based Liberty Media Corp. Maffei was 360's CEO from 2000 to 2005.
Louisville-based Zayo provides telecommunications services, such as bandwidth, voice and managed services, to government and private-sector customers.
